๐’ฏ๐‘œ๐“…๐’พ๐’ธ: When Iโ€™m Weakโ€ฆ

Have you ever found yourself asking God these questions?

1. Father how do I effectively minister to others when I am hurting on the inside?

2. Father how do I continue to smile when I feel swallowed in the storms of life?

3. Father how do I pray for the sick when I myself need healing?

The scripture above says, โ€œAnd he said unto me*, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me. Therefore I take pleasure in infirmities, in reproaches, in necessities, in persecutions, in distresses for Christ's sake: for when I am weak, then am I strongโ€.

In this passage of scripture, Paul is referencing the โ€œthorn in his fleshโ€. There was something troubling Paul. An aggravation. An annoyance. But, most likely, it may have been a physical ailment. However, it was beneficial to Paul, in that it kept him humbled. What Paul thought would be for his bad, God meant for his good (Romans 8:28).

The reality of illness or suffering in a Christianโ€™s life does not essentially indicate a sinful life or a life that lacks faith. Paul asked the Lord on three separate occasions for the Lord to take away the thorn. However, God's grace was sufficient for Paul in that His power is made perfect in Paul's weaknesses.

Today in 2020, we are very much like the Apostle Paul. We experience ups and downs. We experience sickness, pain, loss, suffering, abuse, financial crisis, family burdens, challenges with our children, and various hardships. However, our afflictions are not meant to destroy us. Our challenges are for us to lean on God and allow His strength to be perfected in our weaknesses.

Through Godโ€™s strength we can effectively minister while battling individual storms. In His strength, we smile in the midst of our own storms. By His strength, might, and power we pray for the sick even when we need healing.

Father in the name of Jesus, Your Word says in 1 Chronicles 16:11, โ€œSeek the Lord and His strength; seek His presence continuallyโ€! Father I pray for every person reading this prayer. Father I pray that through their individual challenges, struggles, an temptations, they continuously and consistently stay in Your presence.

Father I pray that You touch my brother and my sister and fill them with Your hope and strength. Father help the reader of this prayer to know that our weaknesses are no match for Jesus Christ. Christ took our weaknesses on the Cross with Him. Father I pray that whoever is feeling too weak to manage day to day or too hopeless to live life, that they call on the name of Jesus!

Father I pray that whoever is feeling emotionally, physically, mentally, or spiritually weak that they plead to You oh God just like the Apostle Paul pleaded to You. Father I pray that they know that when we belong to You, we are in the care of Your loving hands. Father I pray that right now the Holy Spirit force out sickness, disease, depression, and anxiety.

Father I ask that You renew the strength in each person and that the diligently seek after You. Father I ask that when it is all said and done, You get the Glory in their healing today oh God.

We Love You God. Itโ€™s in Jesus Name we pray, Amen.
