James 4:6 reads, "But he gives more grace. Therefore it says, โGod opposes the proud, but gives grace to the humble.โ
There is something to say about the process of humility. I have asked God many times to consistently humble me. Especially when I'm feeling myself more than I should. However, humility is not always fun. It's not always cute. And it's certainly not always a glorious process.
At times, humiliation can often take the shape of doing a job no one else will volunteer for. Or being assigned a task that seems degrading or lower than one's title or duty. Humility often involves some type of servitude at a lower scale.
It has been my experience that those times when I volunteered for a position or assignment that no one else wanted, promotion followed shortly afterwards.
I would like to encourage you to take those unpopular assignments, tasks, details, or jobs no one else wants. God sees you and He knows your heart. Accomplish that task with a smile and a humbling attitude.
Father in the name of Jesus, I pray for every person reading this entry. Father God I ask that You continue to humble each of us. Father if takes that position or assignment that makes us uncomfortable than we humbly submit to that duty God. Father grow us in the state of being uncomfortable. Father help us to be more like Jesus.
It's in Jesus name we pray. Amen.
