๐ฏ๐๐ ๐พ๐ธ: Spiritual Sadness
๐ข๐๐๐น ๐๐๐๐๐พ๐๐ ๐๐ ๐ด๐๐,
Or is your morning not so good today? Trust me. I do understand. We are human y'all.
Today I'm writing this entry to encourage, uplift and inspire someone who may be in a prolonged state of "Introspection". What is Introspection? According to Merriam Webster Dictionary, introspection is a reflective looking inward and an examination of one's own thoughts and feelings. The bible tells us in
2 Corinthians 13:5, "Examine yourselves, to see whether you are in the faith. Test yourselves. Or do you not realize Jesus Christ is in you?"
However, we can be in alignment with God. We can pray daily; or even several times a day. We may (or may not) read our bibles frequently. However, we can examine ourselves so hard, that we go pass the point of introspection. And henceforth, when we become down in spirit, we become spiritually melancholy. (Meh). But listen. As Christians, we will experience seasons of joy. Seasons of cheer. Seasons of sadness. Seasons of uncertainty. Seasons of grief and pain. Seasons of questioning ourselves. Seasons of vulnerability. The Bible tells us in Ecclesiastes 3 that we will experience it all.
Additionally, when the bible tells us to test ourselves, it's saying to check our heart conditions. Check ourselves for self-discipline. It's telling us to see if we are in alignment with the principles of the greatest Teacher - Jesus Christ. Would Jesus be pleased with our heart conditions or would He be saddened? And if we are falling short, as each of us have, are, and/or will, repent of our sins and turn back to God.
But listen. Don't beat yourself up! Don't allow your mind to fall into a sluggard state. You can't stay there. When we fall off spiritually with God, other areas of our lives may fall off as well. The Word of God is food for our souls. I want you to know, even though we feel at times God is nowhere in sight, He is there. He is here. He never left us. He never left you. So get out of your head!
Stay focused on God. Stay focused on the goal. The end goal is always Jesus! John 8:12 says, "Again Jesus spoke to them saying, "I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will not walk in darkness, but will have the light of life."
Here are a few more Bible verses for you to repeat and ponder on. God gave us so much hope in His buffet that we call the Bible! So eat up!
Psalm 51:2, "Restore to me the joy of your salvation, and uphold me with a willing spirit."
Matthew 11:28, "Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest."
James 1:2, "Count it all joy, my brothers, when you meet trials of various kinds."
Philippians 4:13, "I can do all things through Him who gives me strength."
Romans 12:12, "Rejoice in hope, be patient in tribulation, be constant in prayer."
1 Peter 1:3, "Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! According to His great mercy, He has caused us to be born again to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead."
Father in the name of Jesus, I pray for that person who has been in a state of spiritual melancholy. Father God I pray deliverance for their soul. Father I pray complete healing over their state of mind, in the name of Jesus. Father God I pray joy, hope, and prosperity through Christ Jesus over their lives. Father I pray You return Your Joy back to their hearts. Back to "Our" hearts God.
It's in Jesus name we pray. Amen.
