"Root of the Tree"

𝒮𝒸𝓇𝒾𝓅𝓉𝓊𝓇𝑒: Matthew 3:10

𝒢𝑜𝑜𝒹 𝑀𝑜𝓇𝓃𝒾𝓃𝑔 𝓉𝑜 𝒴𝑜𝓊,

In Matthew 10:3 the scripture reads, "And even now the ax is laid to the root of the trees. Therefore every tree which does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire.

In this text, we see John the Baptist warning Israel to repent of their sins because the Kingdom of Heaven is near. We are the trees in this example. And we can either produce good or bad fruit. I want you to ask yourself, which fruit are you producing. Will God have to uproot your tree for being bad?

During this particular message, John sees a group of religious leaders amongst the crowds as they seemingly are there to witness what he is teaching and also the baptisms he is conducting. John the Baptist calls them a "Brood of Vipers". John warns them that if they wholeheartedly repented of their sins, their genuine change will produce fruit from their new and corrected actions.

John is warning that the wrath of God is equivalent to the axe already being at the root of the tree, ready to cut down any bad trees bearing bad fruit. Will this be you? I certainly hope not.

Why this scripture today Monica? This seems just a tad bit harsh for so early in the morning. The reason why is because the time is near and close for the return of Jesus Christ. The seriousness of the return of Jesus Christ is real.

This entry today is to warn every reader to turn your life to God. I warn you to repent of your sins. I warn you to change any evil ways you have stored in your heart. I warn you to change for the better. I warn you to give your life to Jesus Christ. The results of your change will produce good fruit. This is what John was warning the religious leaders to do in this wilderness.

Furthermore, John warned the children of Israel to no longer use being the descendants of Abraham as an excuse and as a pass or waiver from judgment. I am reminding you today, that the only way to see the Kingdom of God / the Kingdom of Heaven is through His Son Jesus Christ. Repent of any sin that you can possibly think of or remember. Forgive people that you have been holding grudges to. Do what Psalm 139:23-24 says. Ask God to search your heart. Ask God to lead you to a path of righteousness and holiness.

Father in the name of Jesus, we repent of our sins God. Father God remove all hatred, bitterness, evil, and malice from our hearts and minds God. Father God we want to live holy and righteous lifestyles. Father God decrease us so that You may have the increase in our lives. Father God minister to the people we come in close contact with through us. Father God use this earthly vessel that you created in me to help others. Father God allow people to see Your light inside of me and inside of us.

Father God, when it is time for the Messiah to return, we don't want to be caught up living wrong. Father help us prepare our hearts as Jesus Christ prepare to return one day soon. Father God I want to see as many souls as possible reach your Kingdom, including my own God. Father God make our crooked paths straight and help us to resist the enemy and resist our flesh. Your Word says if we resist the devil, he will flee (James 4:7).

Father God Your Word has equipped us to fight the good fight as Jesus as our Redeemer and Savior. Father God, we know that Jesus died on the cross for us over 2,000 years ago because You knew and He knew that we would never be able to fight against the evil of the world on our own. So God we thank You for Your Grace and for the sacrifice of Your only begotten Son. (John 3:16).
