๐ข๐๐๐น ๐๐ป๐๐๐๐๐๐๐ ๐๐ ๐ด๐๐,
Recently, I was amazed by something I heard. A Christian Engineer stated he built his first engine by the age of twelve years old. He stated his father taught him this unique and gifted skill set. I began to think back as a child watching my father work on vehicles, disassembling parts, or replacing old parts with new parts. I remember how tedious it was at times for him having to work in tiny spaces and odd angles while replacing parts. What a spectacular task to be gifted with in building entire engines before ever becoming a teenager. I am sure that it is a meticulous assingment requiring diligence, patience, and skill. There is purpose behind such talents and gifts.
According to Merriam Webster, the word build means to develop according to a systematic plan, by a definite process, or on a particular base. Additionally, the word build is a verb and it means to construct or assemble by putting parts together. Another definition of build is to make stronger or more intense.
Because of how my brain is wired, I began to think of many biblical examples of how there is an anointing over the hands behind the talent and gift of building and repairing. But first, let's look at the purpose of a vehicle's engine.
As I researched the significance of the engine in any vehicle, I came to understand that the engine is much like the brain of the vehicle. And simply speaking, I know that if there is no engine, nothing else will function. However, to start from the beginning, a car or truck is (traditionally) a metal frame containing wheels on each corner. Vehicles tend to convert energy, meaning, it changes energy from one form to another. For example, in the winter months, many of us like to have a warm home. Furnaces burn fuel that turns chemical energy into thermal energy. Thermal energy transfers to the air in the home, allowing the temperature to rise causing us to be warm. (For all the smarty-pants, go easy on me, I'm trying here, lol).
So, the converted energy eventially turns to mechanical energy which allows the tires / wheels to move. After the wheels give power to the car, that mechanical energy then changes to kinectic energy. Kinetic energy is gained from motion. The purpose of the vehicle's engine is to obtain maximum energy from fuel for higher velocity and longer distances. Now because I am a foody, I'm going to use a food analogy (no judgment). When our bodies need (fuel) energy, it signals us that it may be a good time eat. Once we eat, we feel energized and it's like our brain can fuction normal again. Similarly, when we fuel our cars, the engine converts gas into motion. In essence, I believe it is safe to say, anyone who builds engine at the age of twelve, clearly has an anointing over their gifted hands.
Let's look at scripture. Proverbs 22:9 says "Do you see a man skillful in his work? He will stand before kings; he will not stand before unknown men". King Solomon often mentioned the work of diligent and intelligent workers/laborers/people. I believe King Solomon was saying there is reward in sucessful labors. The honest and diligent efforts of any worker leads to service in promoted capacities. Proverbs 10:4 even tells us, "He becometh poor that dealeth with a slack hand: but the hand of the diligent maketh rich". Understand, rich doesn't just mean monetary. Rich can be rich in health, rich in wisdom, rich in understanding, rich in family, healthy children, and stable employment.
Respectfully, whatever manner of work you do, do it for the glory of God. Honor God in your works. Work as if the Lord is your Boss. Natural gifts, talents, and any good works comes from the Lord our God. James 1:17 says, "Every good and perfect gift is from above, and from our Father"....
It was not luck that caused the Chrisian Engineer to be great at what he does. It was not coincidental that the Christian Engineer was building engines at ten, eleven and twelve years old. It wasn't chance that made him good. It was a predestined gift from God that our Father uniquely inteded for such a time as this and a Mechanic like him. I encourage you today to search for your own good and perfect gift(s) that only God could have given you.
Father in the name of Jesus, we know that every good and perfect gift came from you God. Father God in dark seasons, we sometimes neglect Your Spirit within us and we turn from using our gifts. Father God help us in those moments when we want to quit and not do anything. Thank you Father God for blessing the hands of the Chrisitan Engineer prompting this entry today.
Father God help us to work in diligence and embrace unique opportunities to help others that will ultimately give you Glory. Father God, help us to discern assignments from You so that we are not overwhelmed by day to day tasks. Father God help us to make a difference in the lives and souls around us. Father God use us to minister to others with the gifts and talents you have blessed us with. Father God decrease us so that You get the increase. Father God stretch, expand, and multiply what you have given us just like Jesus did with the two fish and five loaves of bread. Father God fill us with Your precious Holy Spirit.
It's in Jesus Name we pray, Amen.
