๐ข๐๐๐น ๐ธ๐๐๐๐พ๐๐ ๐๐ ๐ด๐๐,
Today, while driving through town, I turned the radio on to one of my favorite radio stations, (WBBQ). However, if you're a fan of WBBQ, you know that every year, starting in October, they start playing CHRISTMAS Music on one of their alternate stations. So it hit me!! OMGOSH!! We are now in the Month of October, 2021. We are officially less than 90 days away from Christmas! Whew this year flew by!!
Nonetheless, this time of year does not come without its shares of up and downs. During the Holiday season, many of us, Christians and non-Christians began to experience episodes of deep depression, grief of those we lost (annually for some), nostalgia, and so many other emotions.
What I have learned (from experience) is that if you are not connected to THE Source, you will most certainly disconnect from everything around you. And when we distance ourselves spiritually, other areas of our lives suffer. Trust me on that!
So what are you saying Monica? I'm so glad you asked! During this season, some of us tend to isolate which causes us to fall deeper into anxiety and depression. Do Not Do It!! This is actually the perfect time to (Dig Into the Word of God)!!
Let's Dig in and eat together! Look at the below scripture:
John 6:35 reads, "Jesus said to them, โI am the bread of life; whoever comes to me shall not hunger, and whoever believes in me shall never thirst."
Of course this isn't to be taken literally but metaphorically. Jesus is saying a life with Him changes your spiritual appetite forever. The above scripture is telling us to fill up on our spiritual food which is the Word of God. Our Bibles. Fill up less on social media. Fill up less on negative people. Fill up less on things that does your soul no Justice. Fill up less on deadly and wrong habits.
Don't allow the wrong things to occupy feelings of loneliness and despair. Instead, fill up on scripture and I promise it will be the greatest buffet of your life. It's like wanting to go to your favorite restaurant over over again.
Father in the name of Jesus, help us O God to dig into our bibles more than ever. Father God eliminate those distractions and negative things in our atmosphere that hinders our relationship with You. Father God we desire to seek You harder in this season. Father we love You and we thank You for Your Grace.
It's in Jesus name we ask these things. Amen.
