๐ข๐๐๐น ๐น๐๐พ๐น๐ถ๐ ๐๐๐๐๐พ๐๐,
Today's topic was on purpose and nearly the most meaningful I believe thus far on this blog.
At approximately 5am this morning, the Holy Ghost led me to three passages of scripture. The first was Luke 15: 4-7 which says, "What man of you, having a hundred sheep, if he loses one of them, does not leave the ninety-nine in the wilderness, and go after the one which is lost until he finds it?
And when he comes home, he calls together his friends and neighbors, saying to them, โRejoice with me, for I have found my sheep which was lost!โ I say to you that likewise there will be more joy in heaven over one sinner who repents than over ninety-nine just persons who need no repentance.โ
The message? One "sheep" was lost and was found. Jesus placed emphasis on the importance of that one sheep over the 99 sheep who were already safe. Jesus was basically saying focus the efforts on the misplaced sheep. Go out and rescue the lost. That "one" is so important to our Heavenly Father.
The second passage of scripture was Luke 15: 8-10. It reads "Or what woman, having ten silver coins, if she loses one coin, does not light a lamp, sweep the house, and search carefully until she finds it? And when she has found it, she calls her friends and neighbors together, saying, โRejoice with me, for I have found the piece which I lost!โ Likewise, I say to you, there is joy in the presence of the angels of God over one sinner who repents.โ
The focus? One "coin" was lost and was found. This woman's coins was equivalent to one days work. Even losing a single coin was a significant loss. It was important for that one coin to be found.
The third and last parable, and one of the most notable in the Bible can be found in Luke 15: 11-32. It states, "And the younger of them said to his father, โFather, give me the portion of goods that falls to me. โ So he divided to them his livelihood. And not many days after, the younger son gathered all together, journeyed to a far country, and there wasted his possessions with prodigal living. But when he had spent all, there arose a severe famine in that land, and he began to be in want. Then he went and joined himself to a citizen of that country, and he sent him into his fields to feed swine. And he would gladly have filled his stomach with the pods that the swine ate, and no one gave him anything. โBut when he came to himself, he said, โHow many of my fatherโs hired servants have bread enough and to spare, and I perish with hunger! I will arise and go to my father, and will say to him, โFather, I have sinned against heaven and before you, and I am no longer worthy to be called your son. Make me like one of your hired servants.โ โ โAnd he arose and came to his father.
But when he was still a great way off, his father saw him and had compassion, and ran and fell on his neck and kissed him. And the son said to him, โFather, I have sinned against heaven and in your sight, and am no longer worthy to be called your son.โ โBut the father said to his servants, โBring out the best robe and put it on him, and put a ring on his hand and sandals on his feet. And bring the fatted calf here and kill it, and let us eat and be merry; for this my son was dead and is alive again; he was lost and is found.โ And they began to be merry. โNow his older son was in the field. And as he came and drew near to the house, he heard music and dancing. So he called one of the servants and asked what these things meant. And he said to him, โYour brother has come, and because he has received him safe and sound, your father has killed the fatted calf.โ โBut he was angry and would not go in.
Therefore his father came out and pleaded with him. So he answered and said to his father, โLo, these many years I have been serving you; I never transgressed your commandment at any time; and yet you never gave me a young goat, that I might make merry with my friends. But as soon as this son of yours came, who has devoured your livelihood with harlots, you killed the fatted calf for him.โ โAnd he said to him, โSon, you are always with me, and all that I have is yours. It was right that we should make merry and be glad, for your brother was dead and is alive again, and was lost and is found".
The point? A son who was once considered dead, has returned home, with all royalties restored.
Lady Monica so what are you saying? I'm telling you that each and every person reading this is important to the body of Christ. One person believes that no one would notice them if they were to go missing. Lies!! Your life is more valuable than 99 other souls who are already in "Good Standing" with Jesus Christ. All emphasis is to be placed on you, my brother or sister, particularly.
Go back home. Wherever home is for you. And I don't mean in a literal sense. You know what this message means for YOU.
Go back to your Heavenly Father. Confess your sins as the prodigal sin confessed. Turn from your wicked ways. Receive Jesus Christ into your heart, today. This next hour isn't promised. He wants You!! He's waiting on you. God loves you so much that he sacrificed His ONLY begotten Son. Who else would sacrifice their child for you?
Father in the name of Jesus, we pray the Prayer of Salvation today:
"Lord Jesus, for too long Iโve kept you out of my life. I know that I am a sinner and that I cannot save myself. No longer will I close the door when I hear you knocking. By faith I gratefully receive your gift of salvation. I am ready to trust you as my Lord and Savior. Thank you, Lord Jesus, for coming to earth. I believe you are the Son of God who died on the cross for my sins and rose from the dead on the third day. Thank you for bearing my sins and giving me the gift of eternal life. I believe your words are true. Come into my heart, Lord Jesus, and be my Savior. Amen".
If you desire prayer, or you're wondering the what your next steps are, please feel free to submit a Prayer Request on the Contact Tab.
God Bless You!
